Museo Alessi

Museo Alessi

The Museo Alessi, based at our factory in Omegna, showcases over 25.000 design artifacts, including prototypes, molds, and sketches from globally renowned designers. Conceived by Alessandro Mendini in 1998, the museum celebrates our eclectic design journey, highlighting the heritage of Italian design craftsmanship and showcasing how even everyday objects can be uniquely reinterpreted by different creative minds.

Our collection is open to the public, free of charge, by appointment only from Monday to Friday. We kindly request booking your visit two weeks in advance.

Activities

The Museo Alessi runs a series of cultural activities and initiatives, including research, publications, academic lectures, temporary exhibitions and loans, whereby curators can feature artifacts from the museum collection within their own exhibitions. These activities are conducted in association with international museums of design and contemporary art, and with academic and cultural institutions. The Museo Alessi is one of the founders of Museimpresa, the Italian association of museums and business archives.

Alessi objects can be found in the permanent collections of over 50 world-renowned museums and cultural institutions, such as the MoMA in New York, Centre George Pompidou in Paris, and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. 500+ international exhibitions have showcased pieces from our archives and there have been 40+ curated shows dedicated exclusively to Alessi creations.
