CELEBRATING FEMALE CREATIVITY ON INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY
Alessi’s history is punctuated by the work of incredible women who have created outstanding designs for the company.
This month, on the occasion of International Women’s day, we celebrate female creativity. Over
the years, incredible talents have collaborated with Alessi, enriching our portfolio of objects with a poetic sensibility combined with eclectic approaches to design. The group of women whose work has graced the Alessi catalogue has been diverse, spanning different historical decades and global territories - a good overall representation of Alessi.
A pioneer of design, Marianne Brandt (1893-1983) was a Bauhaus legend whose background included painting, sculpture and metalwork. Brandt was the first of a series of women who have generously merged their creative worlds with the Alessi universe, bringing poetry and different sensibilities onto the factory floor. Opening the doors to these designers has contributed to Alessi developing a creative language that speaks through the products but also expresses different elements of creation.
