Emma Silvestris LPWK

El diseño Mediterraneo nació en 2004 durante Lightness of Steel, un taller de diseño dirigido para Alessi por Laura Polinoro (LPWK). A los participantes se les pidió reinterpretar el acero en objetos que no comunicaran solidez física, y que recurrieran a un imaginario relacionado con el mundo biológico, orgánico y natural, siempre un potente evocador cuando se utiliza en objetos. La perforación de chapa surgió como la forma ideal de infundir ligereza al acero. Emma Silvestris respondió a este desafío con un audaz oxímoron, transfiriendo la delicadeza orgánica del coral al metal.

Emma Silvestris, jewellery designer by trade, celebrates the tree of waters with this fruit bowl, transferring into the cut metal the magical and symbolic aura which has always accompanied this precious organic material since the age of antiquity.
